My Why

 Faith, Mind, Body, Purpose

My journey into health and wellness began long before I became a coach. I lost my mother when I was six years old, an experience that forced me to confront questions about suffering, truth, purpose, and God at an early age. What began as a search for answers ultimately became a journey of faith—I believe that while I was searching for truth, Jesus Christ found me.By age ten, I had begun intentionally training my body and mind. Through athletics, adversity, and my growing faith, I learned that purpose isn’t simply found by pursuing what we want. Purpose is revealed as we become more like Christ, serve others, develop our God-given abilities, and find opportunities to use them.

Psychology, Health & Performance

I earned a B.A. in Psychology, initially intending to pursue clinical counseling. Over time, my interests shifted toward mindset, behavioral change, habits, conviction, and purpose—helping people develop practices they can carry into everyday life. My studies also included exercise science, health, biblical studies, and broader liberal studies. Combined with my NASM personal training certification, coaching experience, and years as an athlete, these disciplines shaped my belief that physical, mental, social, and spiritual health are deeply interconnected. Biblical practices such as prayer, meditation on Scripture, worship, service, discipline, gratitude, and self-denial have especially influenced my approach. I also value useful principles such as mindfulness, reflection, and affirmation while filtering them through my Christian worldview.

Athlete, Coach & Student of People

I am also a professional American football player whose career has taken me overseas to compete and build relationships across multiple countries and cultures. Living abroad exposed me to different approaches to health, community, relationships, work, food, spirituality, and quality of life. Those experiences reinforced something I believe strongly as a coach:People are more than programs.Effective coaching should consider the whole person—not only what happens during a workout.

My Philosophy

My faith rests in the person and work of Jesus Christ. I believe our bodies are gifts to steward, our minds profoundly influence how we experience life, and our lives find their greatest direction when they are oriented toward glorifying God and serving others. That is why one of the questions at the center of my philosophy is not simply: “How can I avoid suffering?” But: “How can I suffer well?” Training gives us a practical environment to answer that question. Resistance exposes our weaknesses while giving us opportunities to practice discipline, patience, courage, humility, perseverance, and self-control. I don’t want people to pursue fitness aimlessly. Whether the goal is becoming stronger, healthier, leaner, more athletic, or more disciplined, the physical goal should become part of a greater process of becoming. That is the heart behind Godspeed Wellness. My mission is to use faith, psychology, health, and performance to help people strengthen their bodies, renew their minds, develop lasting convictions, and live with greater purpose—so they are better equipped to honor God and serve others.
